Sealed bids for the Don Bishop Road Cross Drain Replacement will be received by the Board of County Commissioners, Walton County, Florida, hereinafter referred to as "County."  

BID CLOSES:   March 25, 2020,  April 7, 2020 at 3:00 PM local time and will open immediately thereafter.

MANDATORY PRE-BID: A mandatory prebid meeting will be held at the Public Work Conference Room, at 117 Montgomery Circle, DeFuniak Springs, Fl 32435 on March 4, 2020, at 10:00AM local time.  Bidders arriving after 10:00AM will be allowed to stay for the conference, but will NOT be allowed to submit a bid.  

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
 The proposed activities will consist of replacing corrugated metal culvert pipes and headwalls with a new aluminum box culvert and round relief pipes within the rights-of-way of Don Bishop Road in Walton County. Additional improvements include culvert extensions, new headwalls, and regraded fill slopes to accommodate future safety improvements.


Special attention is required for the traffic control plan and work zone areas. Temporary traffic signals will be employed to meter the traffic one way at a time and reduce the speed through the work zone to a maximum of 10 MPH.

The new culverts will be placed by constructing half the road at a time and shifting traffic as needed to complete the installation.

Contract duration is set for 6 months to construct both locations and an additional month to complete the final punch list and supply as-built surveys of each installation.

All questions  are to be directed in writing to the County Purchasing Agent. Questions must be sumbitted to Purchasing no later than 12:00 Noon on March 11 2020. DIRECTING QUESTIONS TO ANY OTHER COUNTY STAFF, PROJECT ENGINEER, OR ANY OTHER PERSON IS PROHIBITED AND WILL RESULT IN BID BEING DISQUALIFIED.

BIDDER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEILVERY OF ITS BID. BID RECEIVED AFTER SAID DATE AND TIME SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED. THE PURCHASING DEPARTMENT IS CLOSED ON FRIDAYS AND WILL BE CLOSED ON FEBRUARY 17, 2020 IN OBSERVANCE OF PRESIDENT’S DAY.

To be considered, bidder must submit one (1) original and three (3) copies of their bid, along with any required bid bonds to the Office of Central Purchasing, 176 Montgomery Circle, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
