Join us for our next Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Meeting, Monday, September 12, 2022 from 3PM - 4PM.
The meeting will be hosted at the Walton County Emergency Operations Center, located at 75 South Davis Lane, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. This meeting is open to the public and we encourage our community to attend.
Overview
The purpose of the Walton County Local Mitigation Strategy Work Group is to plan for a decrease in the vulnerability of the citizens, governments, businesses, and institutions of Walton County from the future human, economic and environmental costs of natural, technological, and human caused disasters. This group is made up of representatives from local, State, and Federal agencies, business and industry, and private citizens to develop, monitor, implement, and maintain a comprehensive multi-jurisdictional plan for hazard mitigation that is be intended to accomplish this purpose and to promote a sustainable and disaster-resistant community.
Meeting Dates and Times
The LMS Working Group meetings are held quarterly from 9:00am until 10:30am. Please monitor the Walton County Emergency Management Facebook page and the Walton County online calendar for the dates and locations.
