How to Get a 9-1-1 Address

Steps

  1. Contact Walton County Planning Division regarding land use and building requirements, such as setbacks, wetlands, and flood zone information approval.
  2. Contact Walton County Building Division to obtain a building permit or mobile home permit from the Walton County Building Department. Please give specific driving directions on the permit application.
  3. The GIS Department will receive a copy of your approved building / mobile home permit from the Building Department and assign the 9-1-1 address.

The Walton County Addressing Ordinance states that the address numbers must be placed on the structure prior to the issuance of the final Certificate of Occupancy.
